Does FIT Solutions replace my internal IT team?
No. FIT can serve as the IT team for organizations who don’t have an internal department. However, for enterprise-level organizations with established IT teams, FIT serves as a support system for your IT department, handling tool monitoring and management, and providing as-needed assistance on IT projects and business objectives.
I’ve got antivirus and a firewall; why do I need additional cybersecurity?
Antivirus and a firewall are a great start to securing your organization, but they’re not enough. They provide limited protection, but they’re only a small part of a solid cybersecurity strategy. Each additional security measure forms another layer of defense against cyberattacks: traffic analysis, log management, 24/7 monitoring by a SOC team, a SIEM tool—each of these makes your organization that much harder for a criminal to penetrate. For a longer answer, check out this blog post.
What makes FIT Cybersecurity different from other cybersecurity tools?
Most cybersecurity tools and services on the market are just that—a tool. To be truly effective, though, cybersecurity requires a combination of tools, people, and education. Once you have tools in place, you need a team to monitor those alerts and determine how to respond to anomalies. However, untrained or undertrained users in your environment can pose a significant vulnerability, so you also need to train your users how to recognize and respond to cyberattacks. FIT Cybersecurity is a 24/7 team of experienced security analysts. We monitor and manage a wide variety of cybersecurity tools and services, and we offer cyber awareness training to help your users become a security asset to your organization, rather than a liability.
What happens when a cybersecurity alert is received?
If we receive an alert from your network, our analysts will manually investigate the incident, make an informed judgment on its priority level, and escalate it or dismiss it as necessary. We work with each client to develop a custom playbook: a list of guidelines for what types of alerts are important for your organization, as well as how and who on your team should be contacted for each priority level.
If I have IT, why do I need cybersecurity?
IT engineers are trained in technology solutions to maintain an environment. A cybersecurity team is specifically trained to recognize suspicious behavior and external attacks on that environment. Think of it like a bank; you have tellers and managers, who handle the day-to-day operations of the bank, and you have security guards, who monitor the building and protect employees and clients from threats. Similarly, IT and cybersecurity work together to manage and protect your organization’s valuable assets.
What does “No Tiered Help Desk” mean?
Have you ever called Tech Support about a computer problem, only to spend several hours on the phone trying to get to someone who can actually help? That’s a tiered help desk structure; every call gets sent first to Tier 1, which asks the basic beginner questions: “Is your computer plugged in? Is it turned on? Have you turned it off and on again?” It’s usually an incredibly frustrating and time-consuming process.
FIT Solutions was created to provide a better way to handle IT issues. Each client is assigned a dedicated team of experienced engineers who get to know your environment inside and out. So when you need something, you can call your support line and immediately connect with someone who can solve your problem right away.
Am I ready for an outsourced IT solution?
If you’re not sure whether your organization needs IT help, here are a few questions to consider:
- Is your organization scaling quickly?
- Is most of your time (as an IT manager or technician) spent on reactive tasks or playing catch-up?
- Have you been putting off IT projects for a long time because you don’t have the time or the resources?
- Are you under certain compliance requirements, like HIPAA, FINRA, or PCI-DSS?
- Are you having a hard time predicting your IT budget needs?
- Has your IT environment been stagnant, to the point where your equipment is outdated?
If you answered yes to some or all of these questions, give us a call. We have a variety of plans and can help you find the right IT solution for your organization.
Do I really need cybersecurity?
The short answer is: yes. The longer answer poses a few questions:
- Does your organization handle any client information? Financial data? Health information?
- Are you subject to any compliance standards?
- Do you have an IT infrastructure?
- Are you concerned about the global increase in ransomware attacks?
- Do you work with or sell to vendors or other businesses? Do they have any due diligence requirements?
- Have you ever been targeted by a bad actor/hacker?
- Have you ever received a phishing email?
If you answered yes to any of these, you absolutely need cybersecurity. Ransomware is becoming a bigger threat as attacks increase rapidly around the world. The current average cost of a data breach is $3.86 million, and 60% of small businesses close within 6 months of a breach. Would your organization survive? We hope you never have to find out. Creating a strong cybersecurity posture before your organization is attacked is your best defense.
